HiRO V.92 56K Internal PCI Data Fax Voice Modem (Microsoft WHQL/Vista/RoHS) (H50003)

Nice low cost solution. I am well surprised at the quality and functionality of this device, and it was easy to install and setup with no troubles at all. I would highly recommend this Data/Fax/Voice Modem, many other cheaper priced modems in the past were annoying with touch and go operation or no operation at all. Go ahead buy this you'll be happy with it. Now it doesn't show caller I.D. but maybe with an upgrade to the Faxtalk pro 8.0 it might but I can't say for certain unless I decide to purchase the 8.0. But, this as it stands the way it is will get the job done if you don't want to spend the extra $59.00 for the upgrade. Have fun, I will.

I bought this modem to replace the 56k one in my 2 year old hp desktop pc. While I do have several external modems the integrated kind handles our overland, through the tree branches, phone lines better. The dvd with the drivers was not needed at all. Windows 7 installed their default driver automatically and puppy linux found it right away, too.I do not need to fax so I did not test for that function. However as for dial-up alone I am happy. Nothing dropped and actually quite fast, all things considered. Since I could not get any internal modem where I live I decided to stock up a bit and ordered 3 more. Would absolutely recommend this for anybody on dial-up.
